We are currently seeking further investment of £2.5 million to achieve TRL-6.

At which stage another £2 million is needed to obtain clinical validation and regulatory readiness.

We are also looking for a globally respected and recognised partner in the diabetes care sector

that can take our technology to market and make it an effective weapon

with which to fight the type-2 epidemic.

Frequent and regular HbA1c testing would confirm that lifestyle changes and therapeutic interventions are working and could act as motivational support for people

who are really trying to manage their diabetes more effectively.

A move to more preventative strategies and the development of enabling technology

is essential both to sustainable healthcare economics and improved patient health outcomes in the future.

Globally, more than 640 million people will be living with diabetes by the end of this decade.

Incidence could reach 780 million cases by 2045 and a staggering 1.3 billion by 2050.

In the UK there are around 4.5 million cases and the NHS is spending around £1.5 million

per hour on diabetes care, with 80% used to treat largely preventable complications.

The number of cases is set to exceed 5.5 million by 2030,

and the cost of treating diabetes in the UK is predicted to reach £40 billion by 2036.
